Ring-A-Ding-Ding.....and a Bangle

I love the flashes of blue and green in Labradorite.

Labradorite and Sterling

According to an Eskimo legend, the Northern Lights were once imprisoned in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. It is told that a wandering Eskimo warrior found them and was able to free most of the lights with a mighty blow of his spear. Some of the lights were still trapped within the stone, and thus we have today the
beautiful mineral known as Labradorite.

OR

Labradorite is a variety of Feldspar, originally named after being discovered in Labrador, Newfoundland (Canada). It is found in several countries, although known as Spectrolite in some locations, due to the many brilliant spectral colors of "flash" or "schiller" which can be seen when light is reflected from it. The several areas of Madagascar where Labradorite is mined provide perhaps the largest concentration of this gem mineral found on the planet. Madagascar produces the world's best quality of Labradorite.
(This Labradorite is from Madagascar.)
I might have to keep this ring....I'm smitten.

Copper Bangle with Sterling Silver Accents

What's that? You'd like to see it without a filter? OK!

I'm not sure this is finished. I might have to brush it more & add more patina. Stay tuned.

I'm beginning to see a series of these rings.....I guess the series needs a name.

Blogger is going crazy today. It keeps popping into italics.
What's up with that?!?

Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine

Back in January of this year I was contacted by Cynthia Levens, the managing editor
of Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine, asking me if I'd be interested in submitting some
of my jewelry work for publication.
What an honor! Of course I said yes!

Suffice it to say that I love that magazine! Cynthia and her staff
do an amazing job of putting together four issues per year
that are chock full of great inspirational pieces from
working jewelry artists.

The team at Belle Armoire Jewelry was interested in a couple of rings
I had listed on Etsy. One is a seamless copper ring
and the other a fine silver cigar band ring.

As with every issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry, this one is
overflowing with wonderful work from some very busy
and creative artists. If you've never read the magazine, do yourself
a favor and pick one up. The summer issue will be available
on a newsstand near you on June 1, 2013.

And by the way... I saw some gorgeous earrings from our
own *Numinosity*  Kimberly Rogers in this issue.
And I'm sure there are other names you'll recognize as well.

Thank you, Cynthia Levens, for reaching out.
I'm honored to be included in your beautiful publication.

Carpe Diem!
